The representative of the largest opposition party in the Republic of Moldova, Grigorii Petrenco, states that the declarations, made public by persons empowered by the Minister of Internal Affairs, are aimed at masking the illegal actions of the leadership of this institution. The declaration was made for OMEGA Agency, commenting the arrest of a young PCRM activist, carried out by violation of the legal procedure, and the declarations made by the MIA spokesman, Chiril Motpan, concerning this issue.

“Probably, the MIA representatives have to argue their illegal actions somehow and they did not believe we would make public declarations and would present to media in order to let all people know what the current leadership of the MIA does“, noted Petrenco for OMEGA, emphasizing that “it is not about a sole person“, that was arrested. “It is also about other persons that have been interrogated by police and that have been visited at home only because they know the person that was arrested and because they are members of the youth organization of the Communists. These interrogations occurred with no respect for legal provisions and there were made searches at home without any mandate for this“, specified the MP.

In this context, Grigorii Petrenco underlined that this case is out of the common, “when the representatives of a party that exists and functions legally, the biggest party in Moldova, which representatives are suspected of committing such actions“. “It is shameful and it is an attempt to intimidate us, to intimidate our activists, our supporters, to present us from a bad point of view, to tell it shortly – to perform a political order“, qualified the PCRM MP the actions carried out by the police.

In context, the PCRM representative announced that “the needed documents are now under preparation to have these employees (of the investigation bodies – e.n.), to challenge their actions in the court“.

The First Secretary of the Communist Youth Union of Ciocana sector of the Capital city, Denis Doga, declared during an interview to OMEGA Agency that he was arrested by the police during the night to 10 January of this year, spending in the police commissariat more than 16 hours. At the same time, the young man mentioned that the representatives of the investigation bodies did not allow him to call his parents in order to announce them where he is and did not propose him to use the services of a lawyer. The spokesman of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Chiril Motpan, denies that the arrest of the young activist of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova, arrested during the night to 10 January for more than 16 hours, violated some procedures provided for by the legislation.
