The Chairman of the League of Economists of Moldova, Gheorghe Botnaru, accused the Prime Minister of the country of personal contact with «market mafia».
«As we have understood, during the control carried out by us in the capital city markets, all this, we will not call it mafia, all this brigade of organizations, which there are there, they have already grasped these markets», declared Botnaru, having specified that these people «have all gateways to the government».
In this connection, the chairman of League of Economists added that «Prime Minister Filat span around for a long time in this area and does the same now, and as we can see, Filat does not wish to spoil the relations with his friends - large organizations, which bring dried milk from Ukraine and Belarus here, and also meat and fish from other countries».
The Press Secretary of Prime Minister, Igor Volnitski, declared thereupon that these statements «do not represent in no way the facts». «Vladimir Filat declares his incomes, according to the current legislation, and there are no other earnings, except the ones he declares according to the legislation. Either as regards the markets or other issues», added Volnitski.
According to the information provided by the League of Economists of Moldova, there are near 40 markets that operate in Chisinau.
