The Protocol on acknowledging the Ukrainian property on Hydro-power plant of Novodnestrovsk, signed by Moldovan Prime minister, Vladimir Filat, during his visit to Kiev, will be examined in details by the Parliament. This statement was made for OMEGA agency by the chairman of the parliamentary committee on external policy and European integration, Igor Corman.
The parliamentarian has mentioned that he, as chairman of this committee, doesn’t know the details and the text of the Protocol signed by Filat in Kiev. “We decided to discuss this issue during the first committee meeting. In order to form a detailed opinion, we decided to invite those who dealt with the development of these documents“, Corman mentioned, explaining that after discussing this document within the committee, the Protocol on acknowledging Ukrainian property on Hydro-power plant of Novodnestrovsk will be also examined by MPs, since this document has to be ratified.
“If we talk about territory, then it (the document – ed.n.) must be debated in Parliament“, MP concluded.
On 1st of February, during his visit to Kiev, Vladimir Filat has signed with his Ukrainian counterpart, Yulia Timoshenko, the Protocol between the Government of Moldova and Government of Ukraine for amending the Moldo-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Agreement on acknowledging the property. On Thursday, the minister of foreign affairs, Iurie Leancă, has acknowledged that it is about acknowledging the Ukrainian property right on the power plant, which is also situated on Moldovan territory. Therefore, Vladimir Filat has acknowledged the Ukrainian property right on this power plant before demarking the border between Moldova and Ukraine on that border segment.
